What a first acupuncture visit is often like
A calm walkthrough of assessment, needling, and what to wear — without overpromising results.
2026-06-01
A first visit usually includes a conversation about your goals, questions about sleep, appetite, stress, and daily patterns, and often pulse and tongue observation.
Needles used in modern U.S. practice are typically fine, sterile, and single-use. Many people feel a brief pinch or dull ache; many also find the rest period calming.
Results vary. Come with questions, wear comfortable clothing, and plan a gentle pace afterward when you can.
